This is a WW2 machine woven shoulder title badge to NEDERLAND in excellent unworn condition. The badge was made by “J & J CASH of Coventry” more normally known as “Cash’s Name Tapes”. The badge measures 94mm by 21mm.
With the liberation of the Southern provinces of The Netherlands in Autumn 1944 the resistance units (Binnenlandse Strijdkrachten) were grouped into companies either to fight alongside the Allied troops or only to perform guard duties behind the front. The combatant part received “NEDERLAND” shoulder titles in blue on orange, the guard companies received them in white on red. The units were disbanded during the Summer of 1945.
